Program Description:

Clauses were added to the DFARS last year incorporating standards a contractor must meet for the Government to consider a business system acceptable. The systems covered by these new rules are:

 Accounting System

  • Earned Value Management System
  • Estimating System
  • Material Management System
  • Property Management System
  • Purchasing System

In addition, provisions are now included giving the Contracting Officer the authority to withhold a percentage of a contractor’s payment (up to 10%) if one or more significant deficiencies exist in one or more of the covered business systems.

Join us for a discussion on the business systems rules as we explain the following aspects of the DFARS Business System Rule:

  •  Which contractors are subject to the rule
  • What business systems are covered
  • How the rule works in practice

The discussion will also include a brief description of each covered business system as well as:

  •  Examples of the application of the rule
  • Business system audit priorities and changes in audit programs
  • Practical tips all contractors must follow to maintain acceptable business systems
