President’s Message

Heather_Dallara_2013Dear Battlefield-Dulles Members:

I am pleased to represent you once again for the 2013-2014 Program Year, this time as your Chapter President. I have had the pleasure of representing the Chapter as a representative of the CMLDP, Chapter Treasurer, and appreciate the opportunity to continue to support the Battlefield-Dulles Chapter. We had a very successful 2012-2013 full of some very exciting events, and this year is shaping up to top that! We once again have a solid educational packed year, and I hope that each and every one of you will take time out of your busy schedules to join us. Please being to mark your calendars now, as our events have been known to fill up fast!

  • Monthly Seminars will be held on the third Friday of the month and will start at 8:30AM with breakfast and networking at 7:30AM at the Washington Technology Park Conference Center at 15000 Conference Center Drive in Chantilly, VA. For planning purposes, the dates are available on the chapter website here. Check back soon for speakers and topics!
  • In addition to our monthly seminars, we have a number of educational initiatives planned to appeal to the diversity of our membership. A few of these items include:
    • An Introduction to Federal Contracting Course. We are working closely with the University of Virginia School of Continuing & Professional Studies to bring some of their excellent certificate course offerings to our members. In October 2013, we will be jointly offering an Introduction to Federal Contracting Session at the Marymount University in Reston, VA. This course will give you a sample of the excellent educational offerings that the University of Virginia School of Continuing & Professional Studies brings to the Contract Management Profession. We will be publishing more information about this event in the very near future, space will be limited so please be sure to register and take advantage of this opportunity for yourself or new professionals on your team,
    • A CFCM Study Group in Spring 2014,
    • A NES in early 2014, and
    • Lunchtime NCMA Webinars.

Do you want to win a trip to NCMA’s 2013-2014 World Congress? NCMA Battlefield-Dulles will be giving away two (2) registrations to the 2014 NCMA World Congress in Washington, D.C. to those Battlefield-Dulles members who attend all monthly seminars between September 2013 and May 2014. It’s our way of saying thank you to those who support the chapter. Please visit the chapter website here for more specific information and to ensure you are eligible to win!

I hope that you are as excited as I am to kick off this year, and hopefully you find the topics as stimulating as we do! I am very dependent on your feedback, so please feel free to reach out to me at any time at heather.dallara@ncmabd.org for any reason. Our monthly Executive Council Meetings are held the First Friday each month, and this is open to all Chapter Members. Please contact me if you’d like to attend. Please remember that we are a volunteer organization and the success of the chapter is dependent on its members; so I encourage each of you to get involved and let any one of us know if you are interested in supporting the Chapter as a volunteer.

I look forward to meeting each of you throughout this year. Please bookmark the Chapter’s Website at http://www.ncmabd.org/ and check us out on LinkedInFacebook, and Twitter for all the latest information on upcoming chapter events.

Warmest Regards,

Heather G. Dallara, CFCM
