Join us for a discussion of the interrelationship between FAR 30, Cost Accounting Standards and FAR 31, Contract Cost Principles. This fast-paced session introduces the major elements of CAS, and touches on a wide range of cost accounting topics. The objective is to provide a learning framework for further training or research into specific cost accounting requirements.
Most contractors that submit contract proposals that include a cost breakdown are familiar with FAR 31, Contract Cost Principals and Procedures. However, they are often unaware that the resulting contract may be subject to another set of cost accounting rules – the Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). Even small businesses cannot escape CAS completely, as some portions of CAS have become incorporated into FAR 31.2.
Our speaker, Mr. Mark Hoffman has over thirty years of practical experience in accounting, contract administration, and financial management for government contractors, with a focus on compliance with the government procurement regulations and project reporting requirements.
