Program Description

Join us for the first seminar of the Program Year presented by the “lively” Michelle Currier of Defense Acquisition University!

During this seminar, attendees will:
  • Learn about new regulations and how it affects doing business with the Federal Government
  • Discuss GAO cases and how they affect Industry and Government
  • Get a Small Business legislation update

About the Presenter

Michelle CurrierMs. Michelle Currier serves as a Professor of Contract Management at the Defense Acquisition University (DAU), Middle Atlantic Region. Ms. Currier brings a wealth of real-world experience to the classroom from her 34-year career, having served with distinction as a Contracting Officer, Division Chief, and Director of Contracts at the Naval Research Laboratory, Military Sealift Command, Small Business Administration, Naval Sea Systems Command, and the Army Contracting Command. Ms. Currier has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Superior Civilian Service medal in 2006, DAU Corporate Ask-A-Professor Award in 2010 and 2011, DAU MAR Faculty of the Year 2012 and was awarded the DAU Distinguished Teacher in 2013. Additionally, she was recognized by Inside Business as one of the Top 25 Women in Business.

Michelle has earned both the Certified Professional Contracts Manger (CPCM) and Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) designations from the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) and is DAWIA Level III certified in Contracting. Ms. Currier was competitively selected and is a graduate of the inaugural class for the U.S. Army’s Senior Leadership Program.

Ms. Currier is a Past National President of the NCMA (2001-2002) and an NCMA Fellow. NCMA has recognized Michelle with the Alvis D. Keen Honorary Life Member Award, the Charles A. Dana Distinguished Service Award, Outstanding Fellow Award, the NCMA Education Award and several National Achievement Awards. Ms. Currier currently serves on the NCMA Board of Advisors and is a Contract Management Leadership Development Program mentor and faculty member.
