Firms in the GovCon sphere are constantly looking for their next task order to sustain and grow their business. With this understanding, GovCONnections, the Government Contracting wing of the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce has tasked itself with providing unique educational events for contractors to learn more about opportunities to grow their business. This month the Chamber has invited three expert panelists with vast knowledge about the General Services Administration’s schedule program to briefly discuss strategies on how to win business with GSA Schedules. Attendees will learn about the different schedules, the resources available to vendors, partnering strategies and how one contractor grew to become one of the top 20 contractors through their GSA Schedules. This event is limited to Federal contractors and businesses that already are listed on the System for Award Management (SAM). Seating is limited so register early!

The scheduled presenters are:

Millisa L. Gary, Ombudsman, General Services Administration

An acquisition professional with 30 years of experience in both the Executive and Legislative branches of government. Ms. Gary currently fulfills two important roles at GSA – the Task and Delivery Order Ombudsman and the Procurement Ombudsman. The role of the GSA Task and Delivery Order Ombudsman is to review complaints from contractors and ensure they are afforded a fair opportunity to be considered, consistent with the procedures in the underlying contract. The role of the GSA Procurement Ombudsman is to receive inquiries and resolve concerns of the vendor community about GSA’s procurement processes and programs.

A.E. (Ted) Buford, Vice President and Senior Program Manager, CACI

Having founded the GSA Program in CACI, starting with a single Information Technology Schedule, Mr. Buford now manages over 25 contract vehicles representing approximately 20% of CACI’s total revenue of $3.6B. His award winning performance has earned him CACI’s highest award for sales excellence, the Pinnacle Award, along with awards for proposal excellence with the Wing Award and Aces Club.

Melody G. Smith, Executive Contracts Manager, Federal Schedules

Ms. Smith has extensive experience across all of the GSA Schedules including, but not limited to the: GSA IT-70, MOBIS, AIMS, PES, and Human Resources and EEO Services Schedule Solicitations. Ms. Smith also possesses an in-depth knowledge of state contracts, spanning from California to New York. She served as one of the lead presenters at GSA’s Business Breakthrough workshop series conducted nationwide. She also leads Federal Schedules’ interactive GSA Schedule Contract informational webinars, held periodically throughout the year.

This panel moderator is Tony Barnett, Director of Federal Sales for Assured Enterprises Inc. a Cybersecurity firm offering advanced technologies featuring AssuredScanDKV a product that will assist government and the private sector in winning the Cyber war.
