The field of supply chain management has experienced the rapid diffusion of new technologies in the area of spatial analytics. Spatial analytics enable the presentation and evaluation of data in a geographic context. The ‘layering’ of multiple datapoints on a specific position on the globe provides a powerful tool to evaluate business activities. The purpose of this webinar is to illustrate the how spatial analytic tools are used to solve complex supply chain problems and potentially benefit other professional fields such as as asset and contract management.
In this program attendees will learn about the practical application of spatial analysis tools, with a focus on Esri’s ArcGIS Online, to address supply chain, asset, and contract management issues.

William (Bill) J. Ritchie, Ph.D. is CSX Professor of Management (Ph.D. – Florida State University) at James Madison University where he teaches supply chain management and strategic management. He is the JMU ASCM Faculty Advisor, where he coaches supply chain students in managing the Africa Medical Relief Project. His research interests include quality standards in healthcare, performance in supply chain management, and spatial analytics using geographic information systems (GIS). His consulting experience in measurement includes work with nonprofit organizations, manufacturing, healthcare, and state agencies. He has published more than 40 manuscripts in journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Management International Review, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, Journal of Business Logistics, Transportation Research, Journal of Healthcare Management, and Nonprofit Management & Leadership.
