You may have heard of us before as the NCMA Battlefield-Dulles Chapter. As of July 2014 we are now known as the NCMA Dulles Corridor Chapter.
Why Change The Name?
Serving a Diverse Area in Virginia
When the chapter was established in 2000 as the Battlefield-Manassas-Dulles Chapter, NCMA designated it to primarily serve members in western Fairfax County, Loudoun County, and the Manassas area. The landscape of our territory has changed dramatically through the years with more employers choosing to locate their businesses around Chantilly, Herndon, Reston, and more recently Ashburn, Sterling, and Leesburg. Thus the “Dulles Corridor” was born!
Our membership’s demographics have followed the same pattern. In 2000 many of the chapter members were in the Manassas area. Years later as chapter membership increased in the Dulles Corridor, the chapter was shortened to Battlefield-Dulles. Today over 80% of NCMA’s members in our designated area are located in western Fairfax and Loudoun Counties. That’s almost 1,000 NCMA members and growing!
What Does NCMA Dulles Corridor Offer?
NCMA chapters have their own “personality” and our chapter is no different! Our chapter’s goal is to meet the unique needs of NCMA members in the Dulles corridor. Our new website will keep you updated on all our events during the Program Year; however, below is a sampling of what we plan to offer:
- Informal monthly morning 2-hour seminars that span a wide range of topics such as contracting, subcontracting, professional development, and more!
- A National Education Seminar (NES) in Spring 2015
- Webinars
- A CFCM Study Group this Fall
- NEW! For the first time we are offering a CPCM Study Group in Spring 2015
